We’re looking for an
Junior Financial Controller (f/m/x)
to join our finance team in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. This is a part-time role of either 24 or 32 hours per week, spread across 3 or 4 days.
You’ll play an important role in keeping our international finance operations accurate, efficient and well controlled. The role covers day-to-day financial processes across our different legal entities, including support with month-end close, management reporting, financial data quality, invoices, expenses, payments and internal controls. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys detail, structure and problem-solving, while working closely with colleagues, suppliers and stakeholders across Europe. As part of our international finance team, you’ll work closely with and report to the Senior Finance Director in Amsterdam.
Your Responsibilities:
Invoice and payment processes - Support finance activities across ISE’s legal entities, including invoice processing, purchase order matching, coding, approval workflows, payment preparation and supplier queries.
Financial closing - Support monthly and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, deferrals and checks to ensure financial data is complete and accurate.
Reconciliations and financial controls - Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, perform general ledger checks and maintain supporting documentation.
Reporting and analysis - Support monthly management and KPI reporting, including budget-versus-actual and variance analysis.
Budgeting, forecasting and cash flow - Support planning activities by collecting data, maintaining templates and preparing supporting schedules.
Audit and compliance – Assist with audit preparation, finance administration and internal control checks.
Process improvement – Contribute to improving finance processes, reporting workflows and system usage across the team.
Job requirements
Relevant experience in controlling, finance operations or a similar finance role
Bachelor’s degree (HBO) in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a comparable field
Experience in a multi-entity or international environment is a strong plus
Hands-on experience with ERP systems, preferably NetSuite, and expense management tools such as Payhawk
Good communication skills, both with internal stakeholders and external vendors
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with a proactive approach
Strong attention to detail and a structured, process-driven mindset
Fluent in English; Dutch is preferred, additional European languages are a plus
Based in Amsterdam or able to commute to our Amsterdam office
Experience working in a multi-entity or international environment, and/or within the exhibition industry, is a strong advantage.
